Needs and capacity assessment
We can carry out an assessment of needs and issues in relation to Preventing Extremism to inform the development of your local priorities and the allocation of funding. This could include assessing the capacity of local organisations and identifying gaps that need to be filled in order for these needs to be met. An assessment would:
-
Bring together and analysing relevant local information, including data from the police, education and community consultation
-
Carry out a robust, qualitative assessment using a framework that identifies key indicators of risk of extremism.
-
Analyse the findings and produce a report which makes recommendations about key priorities to inform your local Preventing Extremism strategy.
Evaluation of impact
Our approach to evaluation is rigorous but constructive. We work by agreeing clear criteria with you up front which relate to longer term outcomes and using a range of data to assess effectiveness and impact against these criteria. Our reports provide clear analysis and recommendations for the future to help organisations perform better. We believe robust evaluation is essential to demonstrate impact and leaning and secure future funding. We can also:
-
Provide guidance on an evaluation framework for use by funded organisations
-
Provide training in evaluation techniques
-
Deliver evaluations of individual projects or local Prevent strategies
-
Provide a quality audit of project evaluations and identify good practice
-
Analyse project evaluations and report on overall impact.
Capacity building
Where you are aware of gaps in capacity in your community and faith organisations we can work directly to:
-
Develop local capacity to deliver models which have been successful and make links with other Prevent delivery organisations, for example RMW’s “Dangerous Ideas” tour and Muslim Youth Helpline’s political participation projects using music and film.
-
Work with mainstream political parties to provide a political channel for young people’s grievances.
-
Broker the provision of training and advisory services
Communications and networking
We can help you to develop and deliver your communications and support the organisation of events, including:
-
Regional networking events – bringing together key partners and sharing practical experience of successful delivery
-
Strategic communications – linking your local narrative to the national prevent strategy
-
Support for local communications – including developing communications plans, media work and work with community groups and local stakeholders.
